
Matías Balmaceda
Lawyer from the Finis Terrae University with multiple specializations in Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Reform and Anti-Corruption Laws in the Public Criminal Defense Office. In 2005 he founded Balmaceda, Cox & amp; Pineapple Lawyers. He has been recognized as a leading lawyer in the compliance area by “Chambers and Partners Latinamerica 2018”. He has specialized in criminal litigation, compliance and the design and implementation of crime prevention models in more than 100 companies that have a presence in Chile and the region. Previously, he was a Public Criminal Defender at the beginning of the Criminal Procedure Reform in Chile. Juan Ignacio Piña
Lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC). Doctor of Law from the University of Navarra. Scholar of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). In 2005 he founded Balmaceda Cox & Piña Abogados, where he leads Criminal Law and Criminal Compliance cases. Previously, he was Undersecretary of Justice (2012-2013), Minister (s) of Justice (2013 and 2014) and President of the Chilean State Defense Council (2014-2017). Currently, he is also Co-Agent of Chile before the International Court of Justice in The Hague. For 20 years he has served as an academic of Criminal Law at the PUC and at prestigious universities in Chile, Colombia and Spain. He is the author of five books on Criminal Law and numerous academic publications in specialized magazines and collective works.

Francisco Cox
Lawyer from the Diego Portales University, Master in Law from Columbia University School of Law and participated in the International Human Rights Law Program of the University of Oxford and George Washington University. He has served as a lawyer in various complex litigation cases both nationally and internationally. He was appointed by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights of the OAS as one of the five experts in charge of investigating the disappearance of 43 students in Ayotzinapa, Mexico. Likewise, he is the only Chilean lawyer who has litigated before the International Criminal Court, currently representing more than 2,600 victims of the guerrillas in Uganda. Previously, he worked in the International Justice program of Human Rights Watch and was a partner of Hermosilla y Cía.

Guillermo Cantin
Lawyer Universidad Mayor. Diploma in Substantive Criminal Law, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He works as Head of the Judicial Area of Balmaceda, Cox & Piña, standing out for his vast experience in criminal litigation, military justice and general processing of highly complex cases. Previously, he served as a volunteer adviser to the penal area of the Pro Bono Foundation.

Daniel Hasson
